Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, an heritable connective tissue condition caused by genetic mutations to collagen protein strands, is heritable connective tissue disorder affecting muscles, tendons, ligaments and blood vessels – the building blocks for life itself.
Collagen peptides serve as superhero allies for skin, strengthening and revitalizing it while increasing effectiveness of treatments such as microneedling and radiofrequency tightening.
Sarah’s Story
Sarah’s story highlights the powerful impact that collagen peptides can have on overall skin, joint and muscle health. Collagen peptides are protein molecules containing essential amino acids such as Glycine, Proline and Hydroxyproline which play key roles in protein formation in our bodies and have been demonstrated to support connective tissues and joints while simultaneously improving skin tone and decreasing signs of aging.
Sarah began to notice signs of aging on her face when she entered her 30s, such as fine lines and loss of elasticity. To delay this process, she introduced collagen peptides into her skincare regime and experienced dramatic improvements in her complexion.
Over time, Sarah began to feel better and began sharing her story publicly. She joined the board of her local Child Abuse Prevention Center in Dutchess County and is actively campaigning for changes to statute of limitations regarding child sexual abuse. Sarah speaks regularly at groups and schools about her experience so as to make other survivors feel less alone.
Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), one of several genetic connective tissue disorders linked to joint hypermobility, is often to blame. EDS’ symptoms include excessive joint and muscle flexibility, easy bruising and fatigue, poor healing process and digestive health issues.
Recent studies on Ehlers Danlos Syndrome’s genetic causes reveal that deficiencies in proteins that regulate normal collagen fibrillogenesis and matrix architecture could contribute to this condition. Knockouts of matricellular proteins thrombospondin-2 (TSP2) and SPARC display joint laxity as well as hyperextensible skin with decreased tensile strength.
Mike’s Story
Mike Banks portrayal as Mike has earned him critical acclaim and multiple acting awards and nominations. Following experiencing corruption within his unit, Mike decided to leave Philadelphia’s police force. Teaming up with Saul Goodman he became a cleaner/fixer/bodyguard for Gus Fring’s criminal empire and eventually rising to become head of security at Los Pollos Hermanos. Banks’ portrayal has garnered him critical acclaim as well as multiple acting awards and nominations.
Mike took advantage of his print ads and radio commercials to expand his marketing strategies by producing a half hour infomercial about MyPillow. Family and friends pooled resources together to fund the production; Mike insisted on appearing personally to demonstrate it himself.
Mike’s infomercial was an instantaneous success and launched him into an incredible business venture, traveling throughout the US selling his products. A true American success story, Mike overcame betrayal, hardship and drugs to build a thriving enterprise.
As Mike was entering his thirties, he noticed fine lines and decreased skin elasticity. To find an all-natural solution – collagen peptides proved beneficial in producing long-term benefits beyond mere appearance enhancement. Peptides were key in improving his joint and muscle recovery after rigorous workouts, as well as his joint discomfort levels and flexibility. Their amino acid constituents supported healthy cartilage for reduced discomfort and greater mobility. People living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) frequently experience joint problems due to an insufficient supply of collagen. Supplementing with collagen peptides may help alleviate some of these symptoms of EDS such as joint hypermobility, fatigue, easy bruising and poor skin healing; collagen peptides may even prevent further joint damage which would otherwise cause discomfort.
Ella’s Story
Carrie and Mike’s daughter Ella is currently 11 years old and lives with two rare genetic conditions – ENPP1 Deficiency-Associated General Artery Calcification of Infancy (GACI) and Phenylketonuria (PKU). Both conditions prevent her from producing certain essential proteins; as a result, she takes oral medication to manage her symptoms.
She’s a cheerful girl with an infectious smile who has endured much. In 2007, she underwent a stem cell transplant treatment which disabled her immune system, leaving her vulnerable to infection and rashes. Additionally, her immune cells recognized donated stem cells as foreign and attacked them aggressively causing severe side effects including the devastating Graft-versus-Host disease that followed.
Ella eventually required doctors to insert a tube down her throat because she could no longer breathe through either her nose or mouth, leading her to live with a colostomy for nearly nine years. Ella’s parents are fighting hard for life-altering surgery that would reverse Ella’s ileostomy and allow her to live free from daily medications.
Ella and her family are members of Citylight Community Church in Columbus, Ohio. Last year they joined a team from Urban Impact Ministries for a mission trip to Nicaragua which proved transformative for Ella as well as her family.
Collagen peptides can provide joint health benefits by stimulating fibroblast proliferation and collagen production, leading to decreased joint discomfort, improved flexibility and enhanced muscle recovery after exercise. Furthermore, collagen peptides also benefit skin health through increasing cell turnover, decreasing fine line appearances and wrinkle reduction, improving elasticity and increasing radiance; their use was found in TSP2-null mouse models who demonstrated altered fibrillogenesis, hyperextensibility skin with abnormal tensile strength as well as decreased elastic recoil.
James’s Story
James has faced many physical obstacles during his lifetime. At age 8, he was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome – a group of genetic connective tissue disorders characterized by hypermobility – which has left his joints less stable than normal, leading to symptoms like joint pain, difficulty breathing, easy bruising and poor skin healing.
He eventually found a solution for his troubles: collagen peptides. Not only have these micronutrients helped strengthen his skin and joints, they’ve also restored a sense of vitality to his life that had previously been lacking.
Collagen peptides are highly effective at improving the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and crow’s feet due to their ability to induce fibroblast cells into producing more collagen – leading to improved skin elasticity, decreased transepidermal water loss and lessened hyaluronic acid degradation.
Collagen peptides have also been proven to contain antioxidant properties that may help counteract UVB radiation damage, according to one peer-reviewed study. Furthermore, oral supplementation with BioCell Collagen was found to significantly decrease sun damage and signs of aging.
No matter if it is hypermobility or early signs of aging that you’re facing, collagen peptides have proven their power for our customers in various circumstances. Our stories illustrate just how effective collagen peptides can be at improving overall wellbeing – from skincare enhancement to fitness improvement and postpartum recovery.
Grace’s Story
Grace Franzese’s resilience made her an asset both inside the classroom and on the soccer field at her Long Island school, but proved especially crucial when she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a bone cancer. Memorial Sloan Kettering oncologic surgeon Patrick Boland saved her leg from being amputated before chemotherapy began leaving her weak and unable to concentrate, hindering homework completion and leading her into recurrences.
As a result, Grace was put on probation with strict terms that required regular check-ins with her caseworker, no cell phones, GPS monitoring and completion of schoolwork. Grace didn’t have access to a computer at home so attempted to complete her assignments without success.
At some point, Grace’s parents turned to the school district for assistance and were told that if Grace failed to complete her schoolwork she would be placed into juvenile detention. Unfortunately, despite efforts made by both Grace’s mother and herself to convince the judge that juvenile detention wasn’t the appropriate path, Grace ultimately entered.
Grace decided to enroll in the online program that Andersons were considering and immediately began to see improvements. She could focus more effectively, and started flourishing again. Since then she has graduated high school and plans on attending college; in addition, she works to pay forward any gifts given.
These discoveries led to the invention of collagen peptides, now widely sold as supplements to improve skin and strength health as well as joint and gut wellbeing. Their stories demonstrate the transformative potential of these microscopic miracles for individuals around the world.
